“In the days of the Annan Plan discussions, I was under threat from two sides. To me, the Annan Plan was taking the protection of Turkey away from the Turkish Cypriots. On the other hand, Turkey was forcing me to accept the Plan, that would leave us without our guarantor’s protection, saying that otherwise it would withdraw its support. This was said to me in those days.” "
