Germany tunes in to its Turkish 'guests' - International Herald Tribune

"Germany tunes in to its Turkish 'guests'

BERLIN: Over the past few Sundays, German TV viewers have been introduced to a large, boisterous family of first-, second- and third-generation Turkish immigrants who run a bakery in the multicultural city of Cologne. "The Ă–zdags," a real-life documentary series by the filmmaker Ute Diehl, follows a mother and father who left their native Turkey to find success in their adopted homeland, and their four sons and three daughters, each struggling for recognition and direction as they bounce between the demands and freedom of the Western world and the traditional values of the country their parents left behind."
