Dec. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Turkey battled to head off the suspension of its European Union entry talks as pressure mounted on the Turkish government to end a diplomatic standoff with EU member Cyprus.
EU foreign ministers pressed Turkey to go beyond last week's offer to open a seaport and an airport to traffic from the Greek Cypriot state, which joined the EU in 2004 without the Turkish-controlled part of the island."
