The main reason Turkey began its membership negotiations was that between 2002 and 2004 there was Gerhard Schroeder in Germany, Silvio Berlusconi in Italy, Jacques Chirac in France and Tony Blair in the United Kingdom. If these leaders had not supported Turkey, we would still be waiting in line. "
