ANKARA, Turkey The European Union's top official in charge of enlargement arrived in Turkey on Monday for a three-day visit expected to focus on the country's troubled bid to join the EU.
A year ago, Turkey opened membership talks with the aim of becoming the EU's only Muslim member nation, but its refusal to allow Greek Cypriot ships and planes to enters its ports threatens to put those talks on hold.
