VIENNA (Reuters) - When Ferit Yildiz came from Istanbul to Vienna to study mechanical engineering, he hoped to get a better education, raise his career prospects, maybe even find a job and a new home.

But two years into his stay, 26-year-old Yildiz and 250,000 other people of Turkish origin living in Austria have found themselves at the center of a fierce election battle between the country's two rival far-right parties.

Fighting for votes in the national election this Sunday, the Alliance for Austria's Future created by veteran firebrand Joerg Haider last year and his former Freedom Party have made immigrants, Turks in particular, their key campaigning issue."
