Apart from other pressing problems between Turkey and the European Union such as general issues of democratization and those pertaining to the ethnic Kurdish population of the country, participants of a panel at the Crakow Economic Forum discussed yesterday in length the �dialogue of the deaf� between Turkey and the EU over Cyprus -- or to put it more correctly, the possible impact of the Turkish refusal to heed European pressure to open its ports and airports to the Greek Cypriot state."52
