In a research made by the KESK, it was noted that Turkey allocated very few resources for the public expenditures and there was a serious employment deficiency in the public sector.
The research conducted by the KESK Research Center (KESK-AR) stated that the share of the public expenditures within the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 41 percent on average in the OECD countries. The research said: “This rate which was determined as 30.8 percent for the consolidated budget in Turkey in 2005 fell to 29 percent in 2006. The rate of the public expenditures excluding the interests in 2006 is nearly 20 percent in 2006. When the military expenditures are excluded, this rate falls to 17 percent.”"
