WASHINGTON - Turkish Daily News

The United States warned against hyping the importance of a bilateral shared vision document planned to be announced when Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül visits here this week, saying the document would be a useful tool in efforts to boost the two nations' ties, but that it was not a treaty and would not obligate any side into anything."Don't read too much into the document," Matt Bryza, deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, told Turkish reporters here June 30. "It's not a treaty and doesn't obligate any side into anything. Neither side is obligated."Bryza said that although Turkey and the United States did not need the document because they already had an "active, rich and close relationship," it would be "useful to have it to communicate with our friends and non-friends."
