A recent report accuses Greater Ankara Municipality Mayor Melih Gokcek of incurring the state significant losses in the purchase of a great many trees from Italy.
The report, disclosed by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul Deputy Berhan Simsek, claimed that Greater Ankara Municipality recently bought hundreds of trees of different varieties from Italy instead of favoring domestic producers who are said to be suffering as a result of a depression in the sector. "
