Ahmet Turk, the newly elected chairman of the Democratic Society Party (DTP), is urging a 'democratic front' among political parties which are ready to address the Kurdish issue and clearly advocate a democratic, peaceful solution. Decrying the unchanged 10 percent election threshold, especially in terms of the upcoming general elections scheduled for next year, Turk says, 'We've always been supported by at least 2 million Kurdish votes, but if such a front can't be established then it would be unfair to throw out these votes once again.' "
