"New Iraqi Consulate opened for service in Istanbul

The new Iraqi Consulate in Istanbul was opened officially yesterday in Yenikoy in a ceremony attended by Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari. Speaking at the ceremony, Zebari said 'This building is a small but symbolic step in the continuing development of relations between Turkey and Iraq.'

The new consulate building is in a three story wooden yali along the Bosphorus. Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler, along with many members of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, attended the opening. "
