One week is not a long time in Turkish politics; it is a very long time. All the same, one could safely predict that the next time the Turks will go to ballot boxes they will not be voting for their choice of political parties only, but also for their choice of ideology along �Islamist versus secularist� lines. The trouble is a great majority of Turks happen to be in the huge intersection group: good Muslims and devout republicans. "
