"''permanent'' Foreign Capital Likes Turkey
ANKARA - A total of 5,588 foreign capital companies began serving in Turkey between 1954 and 2002, on the other hand 7,140 foreign capital establishments entered Turkey during the period between 2003 and April 2006.

According to the data of Turkish Treasury Undersecretariat, a total of 12,728 foreign companies are operating in Turkey currently. The data shows that 2,236 German, 1,053 British, 998 Dutch, 497 French and 454 Italian companies serve in the country.

Most of these companies specialize in the areas of textile, chemicals, foodstuff and beverage.

Meanwhile, 75 incentive certificates were prepared for foreign investments worth 600 million USD between January and April 2006."
