THE International Herald Tribune's sixth annual fashion and luxury conference will take place at the Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul from December 6-8 this year. Chaired as usual by the paper's fashion director Suzy Menkes, as well as Cartier International president Bernard Fornas, it comes five years after the inaugural event in Paris and one year after the IHT signed an agreement with the Dogan Media Group to be the first and only English language daily newspaper printed in Istanbul and available to buy early in the morning throughout Turkey. 'On the cusp of Europe and Asia, Istanbul offers a magical venue and a soaring opportunity for the luxury world,' Suzy Menkes said yesterday.
