"Finnish PM, visiting Ankara, says Turkey has no shortcut to EU membership

The deep division between the EU and Turkey over Cyprus was apparent when Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Matti Vanhanen (centre), the Finnish opposite number, met in Ankara on Wednesday.
Finland is the member state due to assume the presidency of the EU on 1 July.
Mr Vanhanen said Turkey must fill all the EU membership criteria and ratify the extension of the Ankara agreement, which would mean tacit recognition of Cyprus."
