"Turkey to host conference on 'empowering women'

Turkey plans to host a major intergovernmental conference on 'Empowering Women in Public Life' next week with the participation of representatives from majority-Muslim Middle Eastern countries.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced the conference with a low-key and carefully written statement on Wednesday that did not mention the Greater Middle East Initiative (GME), under which the intergovernmental conference was organized."
