WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. intelligence community has deemed Cyprus a safe haven for Kurdish insurgents in their war against Turkey.
A State Department report said the Kurdish Workers Party has established a presence on the island of Cyprus. Based on data from the National Counterterrorism Center, the report said the PKK has become active in both the Greek- and Turkish-dominated republics on the island."
