By Tareq BuHaimed (With Photos) ANKARA, May 7 (KUNA) -- Istanbul has, though a non-EU member state, been rated first as capital of European culture 2010.
As a nominee Istanbul outstripped the Ukrainian capital Kiev as final noimine according to a resolution issued by the supreme EU seven-member culture committee, two selected by the EU parliament the other two by the EU commission, two by the European Council for arts and culture and the last by the European territories committee."
