TORONTO -- CanWest Global Communications Corp. and its partners are paying $61 million US to acquire several radio stations in Turkey, expanding a deal announced earlier this year that gave the company a foothold in the southeastern European country straddling Asia.
Winnipeg-based CanWest announced yesterday its Dutch subsidiary, CGS NZ TV Shareholdings, and some non-related parties, had completed the acquisition of Turkish stations Super FM, Metro FM, Joy FM and Joy Turk FM from the Turkish Savings and Deposit Insurance Fund. "
