AKSAM- While the government is in its fourth year, we see that a balance has settled in the Cabinet. I met with Health Minister Recep Akday yesterday and spoke with him about the changes in the healthcare system. He brought up many interesting and important facts. He told me that the number of physicians in Turkey now, 100,000, is insufficient and so this figure should be at least doubled. We spoke about the problems and aims of the health system. It’s not easy for people to understand that radical changes were made to the health and social security system. However, everybody who visits a hospital realizes this. I was scared when I saw Industry and Commerce Minister Ali Coskun’s schedule for this week. It’s like he geared up. He’s been attending many conferences and meetings. Particularly his visits to Anatolian provinces are getting attention. I saw the same thing in other ministers as well. It seems they recently started to place more importance on visits. I suggested that Coskun should speak about this to the public. If this happened, it would be very interesting."
