Aydın Doğan, president of Doğan Holding and owner of many Turkish newspaper and media outlets, broke the record in 2005 for the highest amount of income taxes paid to the state.
Weighing in with YTL 10.32 million worth of income tax payments, Doğan beat out other giants of industry and commerce such as Vehbi Koç's daughter Semahat Sevim Arsel, İbrahim Bodur, Turgay Ciner and İzzet Bayraktar."
