In the summer of 2001, a Unitarian Universalist-Muslim dialogue group was planned by Rev. Lucinda Duncan and Maggie Herzig from Follen Church (UU) and Imam Salih Yucel of the Boston Dialogue Foundation, a Turkish Muslim group. Their first meeting was set for mid-September. Little did the groups know at that time how important their dialogue would be in the increasingly polarized post-9/11 world."
