"Privatizations draw investors' gaze to Turkey

ISTANBUL When Metin Kilci was hired by the Turkish prime minister in 2003 to find buyers for state-run companies, his first task was to persuade investors to take him seriously.
'The predominant attitude was suspicion,' said Kilci, president of the Privatization Administration. 'Turkey had been saying for 20 years that it was going to sell these companies, then not doing it. Investors didn't believe us.'"
