Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace put the final note on the whole matter. He revealed that the struggle against the PKK would only begin after the situation in Iraq had achieved some stability. Washington's stance on this matter was actually known beforehand, but this was the first time anyone had expressed the situation this clearly."
