First it was bird flu, then came record cold temperatures. And if that wasn’t enough, now the Danish Cartoon Crisis has rocked Turkey (along with the rest of the Muslim world). Everyone is asking me whether I feel safe here. Well, I do. These issues are certainly serious and disconcerting, often a topic of conversation, but they haven’t affected my life much more than that. Actually, the snow has affected me the most — what with eight days off school. "
