"Turkey sends medical team to Philippines

Turkey sent a medical team to the Philippines disaster area to help in rescue efforts on Monday. The team from Yeni Yuksektepe Cultural Association, GEA Search, Rescue, Ecology Group left for Philippines to attend search and rescue efforts in the village of Guinsaugon – on the southern part of the island of Leyte – where the landslide occurred. GEA team leader Ozgur Bozoglu said the team comprising three doctors, two nurses and one health official leave for the region upon a request from the Philippines government.

Bozoglu said rescue and medical assistance will continue according to the needs of the region."
