Turkish diplomats are not known for writing their memoirs. Many Turkish diplomats have been buried with the state secrets and historic moments they witnessed and shared without shedding any light on recent diplomatic history, which I personally feel is a great pity. There are quite a few reasons for this: Firstly, not keeping a regular diary during the heyday of their diplomatic careers or saving copies of notes, documents, news clippings and memorabilia except for photo albums. Secondly, they remember less and less as time goes by and memory fades with high speed in old age. "
