There is nothing more typical of cruising life in Turkey than the ubiquitous summer restaurant found in bays and anchorages throughout the cruising grounds.

Of course, the further west you go, the more sophisticated and expensive they are, and conversely, the further east, the more likely you are to encounter the ad hoc, summer-only, eating places – ‘restaurant’ is maybe too grand a name - by the shore. Sometimes these are tumbledown farms, with a small shack on the shore, sometime it’s just a hastily erected summer pergola with white plastic chairs and rickety tables, sometimes the cooking is outdoor and the cook sleeps in a tent nearby for the summer months."
