The first ever regular schedule of Turkish Christian television broadcasts are now on the air. Last week Sat 7, the Arabic Christian television service, launched Turk 7, a new Turkish Christian television network, for which the satellite television service will provide four hours of its regular weekly broadcast schedule of evangelical programming. With the launch of the Turk 7 network, Sat 7 now broadcasts in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish, the three languages spoken by the largest people groups in the Middle East and North Africa. Debbie Brink, executive director of the Christian satellite service, says modern technology is allowing the network to beam the gospel into many countries whose governments or ruling factions are hostile to Christianity, but where many people are hungry for the good news of Jesus Christ. Sat 7 was started in 1996 as an Arabic Christian television outreach to the Middle Eastern and North African regions. Today, research shows the network has five to six million regular viewers in the Arab world.
