How long have you and Dr. Vedii Ayyildiz been married?
44 exciting years.


Two of your three children are writers. Did any of them consider becoming a doctor like their father?
Vedii Kent, who runs a film business, has a degree in history from Univ. of Richmond, an MA in Ataturk Studies from Bosphorus Univ, and MLA in Film from Columbia Chicago. K. Kamal has an MA in Writing from Hollins Univ. and recently The Cistern was published—poetry and photography—a Turkish-American searching Istanbul for his heritage. Karen Perihan, designed Some of my Ancestors are Ottomans and Turks. All three at one time or another discussed the medical life. We encouraged our children to follow their own hearts."
