Turkey in cautious rapprochement with Kurds

Turkey's decision to allow chartered flights by a private airline company to the Kurdish region in northern Iraq represents a change compared to the recent past, when Ankara and Iraqi Kurdish leaders were exchanging threats of declaring war and turning the streets of northern Iraq into graveyards for Turkish soldiers. However, despite the visible easing of tension, Ankara says the basic parameters of its broad �Iraq policy� remains unchanged."
