The most suitable but ridiculous excuse the Belgian court system could muster for keeping Fehriye Erdal in Brussels and under Belgian security was that the gun used to attack Özdemir Sabancı was not an automatic weapon, but rather a semi-automatic one. Well, lordy, lordy, lord!
I have a strange feeling that before Erdal was able to sneak past the Sabancı personnel manager's scrutiny and start work at Sabancı Tower as a cold-blooded terrorist, posing as an innocent little tea service employee to top management, she must have received assurances from Belgian authorities that as soon as she committed the crime with her accomplice, in shooting one of the Sabancı brothers, she would not be tried or locked up for being a criminal in the first degree, provided the crime was committed with a semi-automatic and not a fully automatic gun. Chew on that if you will."
