"Annan, Turkish Cypriot leader mull Cyprus issue
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan held a brief meeting in New York Monday with Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat over the Cyprus issue, the semi-official Cyprus News Agency reported.
In statements following the 15-minute meeting, Talat said that Annan 'is willing to take an initiative to find a solution to the problem, to resume the negotiations, but he wants to exclude the possibility of any failure.' "
