Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Mehmet Ali Talat, who came together with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan in New York Monday, emphasized that the European Union (EU) was not an unbiased organization since only the Greek Cypriot side was a member and the Turkish Cypriot side remained out of the union. The UN process was the only way to find a solution to the Cyprus problem, Talat told reporters after the meeting."
