Financial Mirror-Cyprus says no to linking EU regulations for Turkish Cypriots

"Cyprus says no to linking EU regulations for Turkish Cypriots

Cypriot Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said on Monday that the government agrees with the regulation for financial assistance to the Turkish Cypriot community but does not accept its association with the regulation for direct trade which aims at politically upgrading the occupation regime.

In his daily briefing, the Spokesman said that the regulation for financial assistance to Turkish Cypriots estimated at 259 million euros “does not aim at lifting the so-called isolation of the Turkish Cypriots but on the contrary aims at politically upgrading the occupation regime.”"
