VIENNA (Reuters) - Austria's view that EU entry talks with Turkey should see Ankara not getting full membership will prevail after German elections, Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel was quoted as saying on Saturday.
Christian Democrat leader Angela Merkel, tipped to win Germany's general election on September 18, says Turkey is too big and too poor to be absorbed into the EU and says Ankara should settle instead for closer economic and political ties.
Schuessel, a conservative, has made a similar suggestion."
