"Royal Caribbean makes top bid for Istanbul port deal

ISTANBUL, Sept 16 (Reuters) - U.S.-Norwegian cruise line operator Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Turkish investment company Global Group (GLYHO.IS: Quote, Profile, Research) made the highest bid of $3.54 billion to expand cruise ship facilities in Istanbul.
Turkey's Maritime Organisation General Manager Burhan Kulumk made the announcement to Reuters after bids were opened on Friday. The build-operate-transfer envisages a three-year construction period followed by a 46-year operation period."
