"Divided Cypriots mark Turkish invasion in different moods

NICOSIA: The 31st anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus was marked in disparate fashions, as the Turkish Cypriot leader called for a renewed push to end the island's division, while the country's president vowed not to be pushed into an unacceptable deal.
'I repeat my appeal to the Greek Cypriot side for peace and friendship,' Mehmet Ali Talat, president of the breakaway Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), said at a ceremony in Turkish-controlled Northern Nicosia."
