European Investment Bank (EIB) Chairman Philippe Maystadt yesterday praised Turkey's macroeocnomic performance and said this country will be Europe's new engine of growth in the future. Responding to a question from the Anatolia news agency concerning Turkey's economic position within the framework of the European Union accession process, Maystadt said Turkey has been enjoying a stable growth period for a couple of years. "
