Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Yorgo Yakovu answered questions posed by Hurriyet reporter Omer Bilge in Lefkosa:
H- Turkey says that it will recognize you when the Cyprus issue is solved. Why do you insist on being recognized now?
- We want to form good relations with Turkey. You call me the Greek Cypriot minister, or you refer to the Greek side of Cyprus. I am in fact the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus. Outside of Turkey, the whole world knows me as that. These sorts of titles make problems for everyone. We would like normal relations. "
