There are many arguments that have been put forward by Europeans against Turkey joining the EU. For example, the differences cultural make up of Turkey and European countries and the gap in their respective incomes. There are also people in Turkey who perceive the EU with similar cultural concerns. Charles van der Straten Waillet, President of International Public Relations Association (IPRA), emphasizes these factors and says that it is possible to relieve the apprehensions held by either side."
