"Turkish PM's Letter to Armenian President: Let's Investigate Claims Together
Ankara - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sent a letter to Armenian President Robert Kocharian saying the two countries should investigate the Armenian claims together, said Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul yesterday. Gul also urged countries which accept the so-called Armenian genocide claims to put pressure on Armenia to accept Turkey's offer.

He touched on the history of Turkish-Armenian relations, saying that the first 800 years had been peaceful. Armenians were used as a pawn in the rivalry between Czarist Russia, Britain, and France, and they were provoked into rebellion against Ottoman rule, said Gul.
