Britain is steadily increasing pressure on the Cypriot government to demonstrate greater flexibility in reunification talks with Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus that are expected to resume soon.
To the consternation of Greek Cypriot officials, Britain is pushing for direct trade links between the EU and the internationally unrecognised Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)."
