I was in Brussels last week. I was there to watch U.S. President George W. Bush's visit to the European Union and NATO. I also stopped at the European Commission and the European Council. I spoke with those involved in the Turkey file. I saw that almost nothing has been done since Dec. 17. There have been certain exchanges between commission officials and the Turkish Foreign Ministry on technical details, but no political discussions.
Why?
The main reason is the immobility of the Turkish side. "
