(KRT) - What's it like to live in a far-off place most of us see only on a vacation? Foreign Correspondence is an interview with someone who has lived in a spot you may want to visit.
Zehra Cetin Birsan, 39, moved to Charlotte, N.C., from Istanbul, Turkey, three years ago. She is a software engineer who returns there frequently for business and vacations.
Q. Istanbul has been a major world city for thousands of years; how big does it feel?
A. It feels like New York - very cosmopolitan. The population is more than 13 million, I believe, and includes people from all over the world. It's a melting pot of different people, cultures and religions."
