"Ankara says Iraq warnings not intervention

Turkey dismissed criticism yesterday that its warnings over the status of the disputed northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk would amount to intervention into the internal affairs of Iraq.
In an apparent response to Iraqi Kurdish leaders, who said Turkey should not interfere in Iraq's internal business, a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Namik Tan said �sensitivities that Turkey has been voicing from the beginning are about those matters which cannot be considered only Iraqi internal issues,� emphasizing that such matters could negatively impact balance in the entire region."
