The President of the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) Omer Sabanci said the Cyprus issue would not be solved with only one-sided concessions.
Responding to questions from journalists following the conference titled 'International Competition and Turkish Food Industry' organized by TUSIAD at Sabanci University yesterday (February 4),Sabanci highlighted the efforts to expand discussion at the Ankara Convention to include the Cyprus issue. He remarked that Turkey and Northern Cyprus have taken the necessary steps and hereafter it was the turn of the European Parliament and Southern Cyprus. 'Now, European Parliament should apply some the promises made to Turkey,' said Sabanci and added: 'It is difficult to reach a point by continuously making single-sided concessions. These issues can be solved with mutual meetings and mutual concessions if necessary.'"
