LEFKOSA, Cyprus -- The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) decided on Wednesday (5 January) to open its ports to future trade between Turkey, Cyprus -- including the Greek Cypriot-led south of the island -- and other countries. According to TRNC Health and Social Aid Minister Huseyin Celal, the ports would be open to the transit of goods that Turkish Cypriot authorities do not tax.
