The Journal of Turkish Weekly-Turkish Cypriots Attend PACE Meeting after Years

"Turkish Cypriots Attend PACE Meeting after Years
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) parliamentarians will attend a Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) meeting for the first time in many years.

Republican Turkish Party (CTP) deputy Ozdil Nami will represent the TRNC at the one-week PACE meeting as a full member and National Unity Party (UBP) deputy Huseyin Ozgurgun will attend as an alternate member. The TRNC deputies will have the chance to attend political group meetings and sub-committee meetings and to make speeches. Nami specified that this is the first concrete step toward the lifting of political isolation over the TRNC since the United Nations (UN) referendum and called on the UN, the European Union (EU), and the Council of Europe to observe the PACE meeting."
